Meeting with DBC and KCC Councillors

Yesterday, 15 February 2022, the BPRA committee members met with DBC and KCC councillors to discuss a number of different issues regarding the BP development.

The next are the follow ups actions which were communicated to the councillors after the meeting.

Dartford Borough Council Actions for Kyle Stealey below.

  1. General street cleaning poor. eg contactor on site 7.30am little work over 2 hours and poorly completed
  2. Cleaning schedule not adhered to or up to date on website.
  3. Using the DBC portal not effective.
  4. Client management unresponsive
  5. Some sideroads not cleaned eg. Abbey Drive, Coopers Close, Pinewood cul de sac
  6. Extra cleaning needed at Oakfield Lane/Shops roundabout areas, very volume of traffic and footfall.

Kent County CouncilActions for Avtar Sandhu.

  1. Remove Hibiscus plants and replant up at Pinewood Sandringham Action Ian/Avtar
  2. Poor Grounds maintenance of beds and shrubs in all areas generally
  3. KCC/Client to enforce maintenance programme as on website
  4. Poor response from client team at KCC when you raise issues, have to take out complaints to get issues resolved, stage one ongoing response to be forwarded.

Joint Actions for Kyle and Avtar DBC/KKC

  1. Fly tip on A2 Oakfield Lane/roundabout to be removed and access secured to stop repetition 
  2. Oakfield Lane Path, litter picking not done and muddy 
  3. Avtar to see about highway chippings being put along above path to Leyton Close
  4. Street Lighting to be extended Oakfield Lane to Leyton Cross
  5. Re-lining of road marking where disappeared or vague on highways across Bexley Park development ALL areas. Already raised with DBC email to follow.
  6. Check on status of pavement parking with Highways H&S issue.

I hope this summarises the issues we raised today and hope we have a positive response on the way forward as possible.
